OSINT NEW ZEALAND
A list of databases freely (or cheaply) accessible in New Zealand which are useful for finding information on people/businesses/property. A key point to note is New Zealand’s small population size (4.7 million), relative to the number of databases (which are in abundance).
I have listed databases which are low effort/high yield with little to no technical experience required to derive useful information. These are also useful for security auditing purposes (what can you find out about yourself?).
Completing due diligence on a company or someone within New Zealand? Maybe I can help!

Judicial Decisions Online provides a searchable database of judgments and decisions sourced from New Zealand Courts
Provides information (including offender names) for numerous civil & criminal law cases in New Zealand. The above link contains information that relates to the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Some decisions are published here by the judiciary from courts and tribunals. Not all decisions are published, and not all decisions can be found through our finder.
The above decision finder searches a variety of tribunals and complaints authorities not found in Judgments Online.
Edit:
There is a link here that allows you to search across “all” databases, however testing has revealed that it doesn’t function correctly. You are better to search within each individual court/tribunal.
District Courts of New Zealand
The District Court is the largest court in Australasia. Most New Zealanders who go to court will go through the entire justice process in the District Court. Each year, 175 Judges in 58 courthouses deal with approximately 200,000 criminal, family, youth and civil matters. Judicial decisions from a representative sample of these cases are published here, with emphasis on significant decisions of particular interest. Selections are updated regularly in an independent process — overseen by an Editorial Board of judges. Alongside other background material, the publication of decisions on this website aims to enhance the open and transparent administration of justice in Aotearoa New Zealand.
District courts typically deal with minor offending in New Zealand, and information regarding cases can be found in the above link.
NZLII provides free access to New Zealand legal information and is funded solely through grants and donations.
Contains more information than judgements online and is free to access, unlike LexisNexis and WestLaw. Click “Database” after searching, it divides items up into user-friendly categories.
